These terms govern the use of Roota, an online marketplace operated by the person named in the Legal notice ("we", "the operator"). By creating an account you accept them.
1. What Roota does — and does not do
Roota lets farmers and small producers ("sellers") present their products and lets buyers find them, ask questions and, where the seller offers it, place orders. The operator is not a party to any sale. The contract for the goods is made directly between buyer and seller; they agree the price, quantity, hand-over and payment between themselves. The operator does not sell, store, deliver or guarantee the goods and does not handle the payment for them.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old. Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person or business may hold one seller profile. Information in the profile must be accurate and kept up to date.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile page.
3. Sellers
- You may list only products you actually produce or lawfully sell, and only in categories the platform offers. Listings must describe the product truthfully; photos must be of your own produce.
- You are solely responsible for complying with the law that applies to your sales: registration of your farm holding or business, food safety, labelling, hygiene, tax and invoicing obligations, and any licence a product category requires (for example, registered facilities for dairy or meat products).
- Alcohol, tobacco, medicines, live animals, and anything whose sale to consumers is restricted may not be listed.
- You answer buyer enquiries and fulfil orders you have confirmed with reasonable care. Repeated no-shows or misleading listings may lead to suspension.
4. Buyers
- Use the platform to buy for your own household or business. Do not send spam or abusive messages.
- An order placed on the platform is a request to the seller; the seller confirms it. Payment is made to the seller directly — in cash on hand-over or by bank transfer — as the two of you agree.
- Complaints about a product go to the seller first. Consumer-protection law applies to sales by business sellers.
5. Contact details and keeping deals on the platform
To protect both sides from abuse, phone numbers and e-mail addresses written into chat messages are automatically masked until an order is placed between the two parties. Attempts to circumvent this (spelling out numbers, linking to external contact forms) breach these terms.
6. Free plan and Pro subscription
- The free plan includes a seller profile, a limited number of active listings and photos, and a monthly limit on new buyer conversations. The current limits are shown in your seller dashboard.
- The free plan also includes a one-off batch of welcome orders and a monthly order limit (the numbers are shown in your seller dashboard). An order counts against it the moment a buyer places it, because that is when the buyer's contact details are shared with you. The order is credited back only if the buyer cancels before you confirm it; an order you cancel yourself, for whatever reason, stays counted.
- Pro is a paid subscription for a fixed period (one month unless stated otherwise at purchase) that removes those limits and adds order management. The price is shown before purchase, in RSD for sellers in Serbia and in EUR otherwise.
- Payment is by bank transfer using the IPS QR code shown (Serbia) or via PayPal (other countries). Pro activates when the payment is confirmed; a bank transfer is confirmed manually and may take up to two working days.
- Pro does not renew automatically. When the period ends, your account returns to the free plan; listings above the free limit become invisible to buyers until you renew or deactivate some.
- You may renew early; the new period is added after the current one. A started period is not refunded, except where the service was unavailable through our fault for a substantial part of it.
7. Content and moderation
You keep the rights to the text and photos you upload and grant the operator a licence to display them on the platform, in search results and in previews. We may remove listings, messages or accounts that breach these terms or the law, and we may propose or reject new product categories suggested by sellers.
8. Availability and liability
We aim for the platform to be available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for the quality, safety or delivery of goods sold by sellers, for the conduct of users, or for indirect loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes are announced on the site at least 14 days in advance. Continuing to use the platform after that date means you accept the new terms. Either side may end the relationship at any time by deleting the account.
10. Governing law
Serbian law applies. Disputes with the operator are resolved by the competent court in Novi Sad, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
